No more will we see her bright, smiling eyes, her long wet tongue, or her cute little nose. The sound of her bark, and the thump of her tail, are lost to the silence. Her food tray has been taken away, there’s no water in her dish. The mail comes, and we don’t know, her sound can no longer be heard. The toys and treats are gone, and don’t clutter our space. We aren’t greeted anymore when we return from a long day gone. Thirteen years of happiness left when they carried her out the door. There will be many unlicked faces and happy smiles because our dog is gone. I will try to remember all the times she wagged her tail and looked at me, ’cause that’s when she showed she cared.

The joys of simple pleasures in life,
Ones like lettuce,
Clean cedar,
And an exercise wheel!
My mom takes care of me so well,
Some days I think she would rather
Stay home and watch me,
Then go out that big door.
I live in fine luxury,
The sweet scent of pine shavings,
With my little blankie
I curl up in at night and my blue hammock.
Everyone watches when
I get hyper at the word carrot,
(I’m getting smarter everyday,
For I can spell l-e-t-t-u-c-e),
Or quirk my head when mommy says my name.
It’s Monet for those that want to love me,
I’ve got the cutest little face,
Chocolate on one side, cream on the other.
I’m proud to be a piggy from Guinea, yes that’s me.
Because my heart is that of a child
And my mommy takes good care of me.
